1. About VeriEng

These Terms of Service govern access to and use of VeriEng, a platform operated by VERIENGINEER LTD, company number 16888766, with registered office at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. References to “VeriEng”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean VERIENGINEER LTD.

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you use VeriEng on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

2. What VeriEng provides

VeriEng helps engineers and organisations check, record, monitor and report professional engineering licence information available from official state licensing board sources.

VeriEng records information returned by those sources, including the source and check date where available. Because licensing boards use different terminology, VeriEng may map a board’s wording into a standard VeriEng status. VeriEng may also determine that a licence is expired by comparing an expiry date supplied by the relevant source with the current date.

VeriEng does not issue professional licences, independently certify an engineer, independently verify a person’s identity, or guarantee that information provided by a third-party licensing source is complete, accurate, available or current.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating or using an account and keep access to your registered email account secure. VeriEng uses passwordless sign-in through a one-time code sent to the registered email address. Google Sign-In may also be available.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

4. Licence checks, monitoring and alerts

Supported jurisdictions are shown within the platform and may change as VeriEng adds, changes or removes integrations.

Licence checks depend on the availability and operation of third-party public licensing sources. A check may return a licence result, no matching record, an error or an unavailable-source result. Monitoring frequency, re-checks, alerts and usage allowances depend on the plan selected.

A VeriEng record or report shows information captured at a particular point in time. It should not be treated as a licence issued by a board or as a guarantee of a person’s current professional standing.

Questions about licence information

If you believe licence information displayed by VeriEng is incorrect or a licence cannot be found, you can contact VeriEng through the available support process. We may review the information and, where appropriate, mark the record for internal review.

An internal review does not change the information held by the relevant licensing board or alter the underlying board status. Where there is a discrepancy, the relevant licensing board remains the authoritative source for the underlying licence record.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for deciding what checks, evidence and controls are appropriate for your own legal, regulatory, employment, procurement, insurance and professional obligations.

If you use VeriEng to manage information about employees, contractors or other engineers, you are responsible for having an appropriate lawful basis and authority to provide and use that information.

6. Organisation accounts

Organisation accounts may allow authorised users to add and manage engineers, monitor licence information, receive alerts, use reporting features and manage other users. Organisation administrators are responsible for managing access appropriately and keeping their organisation information accurate.

7. Subscriptions and payment

Paid plans, prices, billing periods, included usage and features are shown at checkout, within the platform, or in an applicable quotation or customer agreement. Payments are processed through Stripe. VeriEng does not store full payment-card details.

Plan changes, renewals, cancellations and any applicable charges will be handled in accordance with the information shown at checkout, in the account or in the applicable customer agreement.

8. Acceptable use

• Use VeriEng only for lawful purposes and in a way that respects the rights of others.
• Do not attempt to bypass access controls, interfere with the platform, introduce malicious code or probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission.
• Do not use VeriEng information or reports to misrepresent an engineer’s professional status.
• Do not copy, scrape, resell or systematically extract the platform or its data except where expressly permitted by us in writing.

9. Third-party services and availability

VeriEng relies on third-party services and official public licensing sources. Those services may change, become unavailable or return delayed or inaccurate information. We may also suspend or limit access where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance, misuse or non-payment.

We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

10. Intellectual property

The VeriEng platform, software, branding, documentation and service materials are owned by or licensed to VeriEng. These Terms do not transfer ownership of VeriEng intellectual property to you. Customer and user data remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal information. Where VeriEng processes personal data on behalf of an organisation, additional data-processing terms may apply.

12. Account closure and deletion

You may request account deletion through the available account or support process. Where the supported deletion process applies, deletion is scheduled after a 30-day grace period, which may begin at the end of an applicable paid plan. We may retain limited information where required by law or reasonably necessary for accounting, security, dispute or legal purposes.

13. Disclaimers

VeriEng is a technology and record-management service. It is not a licensing authority and does not provide legal, regulatory, engineering, employment or insurance advice. Where a decision is important, users should consider checking the relevant official licensing source directly.

14. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so. Subject to that, VeriEng is not responsible for loss caused solely by inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or unavailable information supplied by a third-party public source, or by use of the platform contrary to these Terms.

Any additional liability provisions agreed with an organisation customer in a signed customer agreement or order will apply to that relationship.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to VeriEng, our business, security requirements or applicable law. Where required, we will provide notice of material changes. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you under the law of another jurisdiction.
