1. Who we are
VERIENGINEER LTD, trading as VeriEng, operates the VeriEng platform. Our company number is 16888766 and our registered office is 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX.
This Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, create or use a VeriEng account, use an organisation workspace, contact us or otherwise interact with VeriEng.
2. When VeriEng is controller or processor
For account administration, billing, security, support and our own business operations, VeriEng may act as a controller of personal information.
Where an organisation uses VeriEng to manage information about its workforce for its own purposes, that organisation will generally decide why the information is processed and VeriEng will process it on the organisation’s behalf. Additional data-processing terms may apply to that relationship.
3. Information we may collect and use

4. How licence information is obtained
VeriEng checks official or publicly accessible professional licensing sources for supported jurisdictions. Supported jurisdictions are shown within the platform.
We may record information returned by a licensing source and standardise board terminology into VeriEng status categories. We may also determine an expired status from an expiry date supplied by the source.
VeriEng does not carry out independent identity verification, biometric verification, KYC or liveness checks.
5. Why we use personal information
- To create and operate accounts and provide authentication.
- To perform, record and display licence checks requested through VeriEng.
- To provide monitoring, alerts and reporting included in the relevant plan.
- To operate organisation workspaces and user permissions.
- To process subscriptions and administer billing.
- To provide customer support, respond to enquiries and investigate reports that licence information may be incorrect or that a licence cannot be found.
- To protect VeriEng, investigate misuse and maintain appropriate records.
- To meet legal, regulatory, accounting and contractual obligations.
- To administer and improve the service where permitted by law.
Where you contact us about potentially incorrect or missing licence information, we may review the support request together with the relevant licence record, check history and publicly available licensing source information in order to investigate and respond. An internal review does not alter the underlying status held by the relevant licensing board.
6. Legal bases under UK data protection law
Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on one or more lawful bases depending on the activity. These may include performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting VeriEng, compliance with a legal obligation, and consent where consent is required.
Where an organisation is responsible for workforce information entered into VeriEng, that organisation is responsible for identifying its own lawful basis and providing any notices required to the individuals concerned.
7. Who we share information with
We use trusted service providers to operate VeriEng. These include cloud hosting and storage, transactional email, business and support email, payment processing, optional Google Sign-In and cookie-consent management providers.
Current key providers include Amazon Web Services, Resend, Microsoft 365, Stripe, Google and Usercentrics/Cookiebot. We disclose information only as necessary for the relevant service or where otherwise permitted or required by law.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or other parties where required or permitted by law, or in connection with a corporate transaction.
8. International data transfers
Some providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where data protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use or rely on an appropriate lawful mechanism provided for that transfer.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it is used, the customer relationship and applicable legal, accounting, security or dispute requirements.
Where a supported account-deletion request is made, VeriEng’s current process provides a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion. Where a paid plan remains active, that period may begin at the end of the paid plan.
Some limited information may be retained where we have a lawful reason to do so, for example financial records, security records or information needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. Access to production systems and personal information is restricted according to operational need. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
VeriEng uses cookies and similar technologies needed to operate the website and platform and uses Cookiebot to manage consent where applicable. Google Analytics 4 is not currently installed. Please see our Cookie Policy for more information.
12. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights in relation to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion; restrict or object to certain processing; receive certain information in a portable format; or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. If an organisation controls the information you are asking about, we may need to refer your request to that organisation or assist it in responding.
UK individuals also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
13. Children
VeriEng is designed for professional and business use and is not intended for children.
14. Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice when our service, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
